It's hard to describe just how beautiful this piece is.

Maybe it's the combination of its delicacy — tiny detail brought into relief with a restrained application of color — and its almost graphic quality. It's like Edward Gorey had a more romantic twin and he channeled a similar genius into capturing wonder and optimism.
